Serve, Evangelize, Be Accountable (Acts 20:24)

Doctrinal Position

  • The Holy Bible was written by men who were inspired by God. It is the revelation that God gives of himself to man. God is the author. Its main purpose is salvation, and its subject is truth. Therefore, all writing is true and reliable in the original manuscript. 2 Timothy 3: 16–17; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Kings 17: 13-14.

  • There is only one God, who is living and real. He is a spiritual being. God is all-powerful and all-knowing, infinite in holiness and perfect in every way. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence or being. 1 Corinthians 8: 4-6; Matthew 3: 16-17; 2 Corinthians 1: 21-22.

  • Salvation is a gift from God through Jesus. Through his death, He reconciled us with the Father and gives us access to a life with him for eternity. Being an undeserved gift, all we need to do is put our faith in Jesus and his work. Acts 4:12; Ephesians 2: 8-9; 2 Timothy 1: 9; Romans 10:10.

  • The grace of God regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and glorifies sinners. If a Christian falls into sin through negligence or temptation he grieves the Holy Spirit, however, his state of salvation remains through his faith. Hebrews 4:16; Ephesians 2: 4-5; Titus 2: 11-12; 2 Timothy 1: 9.

  • The Church is the body of Christ and is made up of all baptized believers. The Universal Church is all the Christians of the world united by the same faith. The local church is made up of local members who come together to edify one another. 1 Corinthians 12:27; Romans 12: 4-5,12; Ephesians 4: 4.

  • Baptism is the immersion of the believer in water. It is an act of obedience that symbolizes the believer's faith in a crucified, buried and risen Savior. It also symbolizes the believer's death to sin, the burial of a new life, and the resurrection as a new creature in Christ Jesus. Baptism is a requirement to be part of the church since it represents having accepted Jesus in your life. It is also a requirement to participate in the Lord's Supper. Matthew 28: 19-20; 1 Peter 3: 2; Romans 6: 3; 1 Corinthians 12:13.

  • The Supper is a symbolic act by which the members of the church, by partaking of the bread and wine, commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus and announce his coming. Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 10:16; 1 Corinthians 11:24.

  • The Kingdom of God includes both his general sovereignty over the universe as well as his particular lordship over the people who have voluntarily decided to recognize him as King. Matthew 6:33; 1 Chronicles 29:11; Matthew 19:14

  • God, in his own time, will bring the world to its proper end in accordance with his promise. Jesus will return for his people in a personal and visible way. That day, people will be judged for salvation or eternal perdition. Matthew 24:44; Revelation 22:20; Matthew 24:42; Revelation 22:12

  • It is the duty and privilege of all Christians to carry the message to all people without exception. Each member of the church should fulfill the commission entrusted by Jesus, which is to take the gospel to all nations. Acts 13:47; Mark 16:15; Acts 20:24; Matthew 28: 19-20

  • Church and state should remain separate. The church should only resort to spiritual means to achieve its ends. The freedom of a person to choose a religion is correlated with the free will that God has endowed each person. Therefore, the state should not impose any religion on their people. Matthew 22: 15-22;

  • God has installed the family as the nucleus not only of society but also of the church. Marriage is between a man and a woman and represents Christ's relationship with the Church. Love is the fundamental basis in family relationships. In the same way, the Church must be considered a family in which love, and unity must prevail for a good coexistence among believers. 1 Corinthians 1:10; 1 John 4:20; Psalm 133: 1; Proverbs 6:20.
